Trending: Caring for Creation
This message in the Trending series covers the topic of creation care. While it may seem like a mature or adult subject to cover, it’s one that in reality, this generation of middle schoolers is becoming more aware of and even more involved in right now. That’s why having a conversation about caring for the world around us—the world God entrusted to us—is so important. It helps us connect with students over something they care a lot about.
WEEK 1: Treat creation like God created it. (Psalm 24:1-2; Genesis 1:31; Genesis 2:15)
REMEMBER THIS
"The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it. The world and all its people belong to him. For he laid the earth’s foundation on the seas and built it on the ocean depths." Psalm 24:1-2
DO THIS
MORNING TIME
As your middle schooler starts their day, help them get start the day off well by saying something encouraging, like: "I love the way you . . ."

While on the go this week, start a conversation with your middle schooler by asking this question: "What makes you feel close to God?"
MEAL TIME
At a meal this week, ask your middle schooler: "What is one thing we can do in our family to treat creation like God created it?" This could include things like recycling plastic water bottles or aluminum cans, growing some plants, using less water, etc.
BED TIME
Pray: "God, help us to think about how we live and function in the world, not just for own benefit, but also for the benefit of others."
