This Is Real Love
Easter is a great opportunity to remind your middle schooler of what Jesus said and did to show us real love. His life, ministry, death, and resurrection are all demonstrations of that real love, and they’re what we remember and celebrate in this season. As you talk to your kid this season, focus on bringing those things to life, not just as stories but as real events that really happened to really demonstrate Jesus’ real love for us.
WEEK 1: Jesus shows us what real love is. (1 John 4:9-10)
WEEK 2: Jesus treats everyone like they are important. (John 20:11-18)
WEEK 3: Jesus offers everyone forgiveness (John 21:15-17)
REMEMBER THIS
“This is real love — not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins.” 1 John 4:10, NLT
DO THIS
Morning Time
As your middle schooler starts their day, slip a note in their backpack or lunch telling them that you believe in them.
Drive Time
While on the go this week, ask your kid: “Who is someone you know who shows love and compassion to others?”
Meal Time
At a meal this week, have everyone answer this question: “What are some ways Jesus showed us how much God loves us?”
Bed Time
Pray that you and your kid will understand how Jesus’ resurrection demonstrates the real love God has for us this Easter season.
