Level Up

Middle schoolers live in a world of levels, unlocks, and small wins. Level Up uses that momentum to teach a better truth: faith is a key that unlocks forward motion with God. Drawing on James, Romans, Jeremiah and practical teaching in the First Edits material, this series helps students understand pressure and practice as part of being formed by God. Each lesson is fast and clear — a story or interactive moment, a short truth from Scripture, and one simple practice students can try that week (a prayer pattern, a tiny habit, a community step). The aim is to make big theology usable: kids who know God listens, who understand that hard seasons can produce growth, and who take one small, faithful step toward the future God promises.

WEEK 1: What if challenges make you stronger? (James 1:2–4)

WEEK 2: You are a diamond in process. (James 1:2–4, Galatians 6:9)

WEEK 3: Daily renewal — don't be spiritually musty. (Romans 12:2)

WEEK 4: Faith is your future. (2 Corinthians 5:17)

REMEMBER THIS
“Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.” — James 1:2–4

DO THIS
Morning Time
As your kid starts their day, remind them that growth takes time. Say something like, “I know you may not always feel it, but I see so much value in who you are.”

Drive Time
As you’re on the go this week, ask your kid, “What’s something in your life that feels challenging right now? What would it look like if that challenge actually helped you grow stronger?”

Meal Time
At a meal this week, have everyone answer this question: “What is something in your life that took time, pressure, or practice before it became something you were proud of?” Use the conversation to highlight that growth often happens in places no one else sees.

Bed Time
As your kid gets ready for bed, pray and thank God that their value is already placed inside them by Him. Pray that they will trust the process God is using to shape them, especially in hidden or challenging seasons. Pray that they would remember God sees their worth even when they don’t.
