Hey God

Middle schoolers feel a lot, but they are still figuring out what to do with all of it. Hey God is a series about making prayer personal instead of confusing or intimidating. Each week, students will see that they can talk to God in their own words about anything, anytime, and that His love and mercy meet them with a fresh start again and again. Our prayer is that students would begin to see God as close and kind, learning to bring their worries, questions, and gratitude to Him in simple, honest, everyday conversations.

WEEK 1: God doesn’t give up. (Lamentations 3)

WEEK 2: Even when God feels silent, Jesus is still with you and still in control. (Mark 4)

WEEK 3: God conquers what you can’t. (1 Samuel 17)

WEEK 4: Hope endures through grief. (Ruth 1:1–5)

REMEMBER THIS
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6–7

DO THIS
Morning Time
As your kid starts their day, ask what you can pray for them today or this week.

Drive Time
While on the go, ask your kid: “Who is someone we can be praying for?”

Meal Time
At a meal this week, have everyone write down a prayer request. Put them in a bowl and have people randomly select a prayer request to pray for.

Bed Time
At the end of the day, pray with your kid, giving thanks for what God has done and praying for whatever is on your hearts.
