Domino Effect

From family to classmates to neighbors to social media, your teenager has the ability to affect others around them. They have influence, and what they do with that influence matters. In this four-week series, we’ll challenge students to pay attention to the domino effect they each have on others and encourage that to be shaped by the effect Jesus wants them to have in the lives of others.

WEEK 1: Jesus can use what you have to do big things. (John 6:8-14 NLT)

WEEK 2: Doing big things starts with small steps. (Acts 2:42-47 NLT)

WEEK 3: Jesus doesn’t allow our mistakes to be the end of our story. (Luke 22:56-57 NIV, John 21:15 NIV)

WEEK 4: Practice faith together.

REMEMBER THIS
“In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” Matthew 5:16 NIV

DO THIS
Morning Time
Start your kid’s day off by sharing something you have learned from them, and thank them for teaching you (whether they realized it or not).

Drive Time
While on the go this week, ask: “Name one thing or person who has a lot of influence right now.”

Meal Time
At a meal this week, have everyone answer this question: “What is an area of life that you have influence?” (You may have to help one another figure this out. Also, remember influence can be smaller than what most of us think when we hear the word.)

Bed Time
As you pray for your kid, pray that they will use any influence they have to point others to Jesus.
